Enter Blue Papaya through native stone walkways, and a charming trellised pergola. Lush colorful tropical foliage abounds and enthralls.
The view overwhelms. From rainbows and sailboats gliding over a glistening sea by day, to brilliant sunsets, to the twinkling lights of St. Thomas dancing in the distance on a moonlit night, the view is truly breathtaking.
Once inside, you'll be at the heart of this gracious home. The living/dining area is beautifully appointed with soothing colors, mahagony accents and designer furnishings. The large dining table and wet bar will invite elegant dinners and lingering conversation. The gourmet kitchens offers all the bells and whistles the even fussiest cook could ask for.

There are two elegant guests suites on this main level, both with luxurious king bedding, fine linens and large, well appointed baths, with a stonework shower for the romantic.
A short walk down a covered stairwell brings you to the main pool deck. A large pool with a beach entry gives guests a place to swim or simply cool off while sunning and enjoying the magnificent westward view of the Caribbean Sea. We have stayed at several properties in the Virgin Grand Estates over the past 10 years. This was our first time at Blue Papaya and it is now our favorite! Perfect layout of bedrooms, with a nice gathering area and a well-stocked kitchen. The furnishings are beautiful and the stonework is some of the best I've seen on the island. We'll be back! |

Our family of 10 (65yrs to 4 yrs) had a dream vacation at Blue Papaya. This is the only time in 40 years I have rented the same home twice. BP does not disappoint and neither does DSt.J. I e-mailed about a minor issue one morning and someone was there within a couple of hours or less. ( in the Caribbean!!!!:):):)) Also mentioned a dust pan would be great and I found it the next day in the laundry room. We were surprised by a mid week cleaning and I so enjoyed meeting Kamela. What a sweet person and fantastic employee you have in her. This home is so well appointed and so comfortable. I will definitely recommend DSt.J to anyone looking for a place to stay on St. John and specifically Blue Papaya. Thank-you so much for providing great service and a wonderful stay. |

We had an amazing stay at Blue Papaya. The house is beautiful - from the stone walled bathrooms in the private suites, to the well stocked kitchen to the stunning views from the balcony and pool. Our kids loved swimming in the pool at night and we loved the sunsets and sunrises. We saw rainbows on 2 mornings! It accommodated our 2 families of 4 and 5 perfectly. We would live to come back and stay at Blue Papaya in beautiful St. John! |

We really enjoyed our stay at Blue Papaya. The villa is in excellent condition and beautifully decorated. It truly conveyed a Caribbean atmosphere and helped set the stage for a wonderful, tropical vacation. The highlight for us was the sweeping views of Great Cruz Bay and the island of St. Thomas in the distance. We spent many hours on the veranda enjoying the view. We look forward to returning to Blue Papaya again in the future. |

We loved this villa. Perfect for our family of 7 adults. We loved the magnificent view..even in the rain. We were impressed with swift response to a refrigerator issue and air conditioning issue by Destination St John. We had everything we needed in the kitchen. The pool was perfect temp and great way to relax after a busy day exploring! |

Our multigenerational family with 7 adults and 3 kids under 10 enjoyed a wonderful week at the Blue Papaya villa. The home is beautifully appointed with multiple gathering areas, private bedrooms that are spacious, a pool that the kids loved & spectacular views from the upstairs veranda & the patio deck. The pictures on line do not fully capture how lovely this home is. The location is also great for getting into Cruz Bay area, the beaches, grocery store and not a far drive to Coral Bay. We are looking forward to seeing all the fun pictures from out stay! |

The house has a great location and amazing views of sunset. The pool and balcony was used most, with great kitchen and living room to entertain. Entire house is A/C and each bedroom is a suite with its own bathroom. The gated community adds sense of privacy and is only 12 min drive into town. Highly recommend and would stay there again. |

Booking with Destination St. John was simple. Just follow their clear instructions and timelines and your good to go. Eric met us at the dock was extremely accommodating and pleasant to converse with and gave us an informative tour of the house upon arrival. The Blue Papaya is an amazingly cared for home with views that rival anywhere on the island. All of the basics and then some are in the home so check before heading to the store. There is one bedroom accessible from inside the house the rest are each dedicated external entrances meaning you will have to lock 5 doors before you leave but this was not an issue. There are in room safes should you wish to store any valuables. Watching the sun sets from either the pool deck or upper deck are a great way to spend the evening and unwind from a day of activities. We could not have been happier with this home or the booking experience. Definitely will look to Destination St. John for our next visit. |

I just wanted to thank you again for being so accommodating for our son's surprise arrival! Being active duty military, we just never know his schedule until the last minute. His sister was overjoyed that he was able to make her wedding on the beach-which was perfect with Anne Marie Porter officiating and Anne Bequette taking the photos. His presence made it complete! Also I wanted to thank you for the quick response time in restoring the water after the power outage-I think he was there within 5 minutes! Outstanding! Thanks again for a wonderful stay-Blue Papaya is the perfect villa! |

We just got back from a wonderful vacation in St. John. (5/4 to 5/11/21). We stayed in the Blue Papaya house in Grand Virgin Estates. I can not say enough positive words about this house. The views were so pretty. And there was plenty of seating for our family. We all had a lovely time. We rented this house from Destination St. John. We highly recommend this rental company. They are fabulous! |

We stayed at Blue Papaya the first week of November 2020 and it was beautiful. The house is an amazing construction with arches, columns, stone walled showers with shells tucked in and a beautiful brick floor throughout. The mahogany doors and shudders gave an elegant drama to the house. Each bedroom is its very own suite, so each couple in our group felt like they had their own hideaway when they wanted to chill. The pool is awesome, and perfect for lounging mid afternoon, or late night swims. The kitchen is chef quality, and satisfied the wonderfully meticulous cook in our group. Of all the beautiful things this house had to offer, the best part was the VIEW. Watching the sunsets with our friends are some of the best memories we have. |

Blue Papaya is perfectly situated in Virgin Grande Estates, a quiet, private, gated community. You are about a 10-15 minute drive to Cruz Bay and to North Shore beaches. Walking into the upstairs main living area, there is a large sitting area for game night, dining table, bar area, large up to date kitchen with blender, icemaker in freezer, plenty of cooking utensils, toaster and coffee maker. The porch is AMAZING and had some of the best sunsets I have ever seen on St John. There is master suite in a separate building (but connected) and two master suites at the pool area. Also a half bath at pool area and a grill. The entire villa has A/C. There were plenty of towels including beach towels, coolers and beach chairs. Destination St. John was extremely helpful and quick to respond with all questions, excellent management company! We can't wait to book again for another vacation in paradise!!!! |

We recently stayed at this gorgeous property. Blue Papaya exceeded all of my expectations. There are 4 master type bedrooms, 2 upstairs and 2 on pool level. They are all very equal and no one felt like they got a less desirable space. A 5th bedroom also serves as a lounge area (how we used it). The pool is awesome, with a zero entry. There is also great conversation area on a covered deck right off the living area, where we enjoyed cocktails and sunsets each night. It sits high on a hillside but a quick 5 minutes to Cruz Bay. It has beautiful views of outlying islands, St Thomas and the bay below, it also gets a perfect sunset! The property managers were great. Destination St. John rep met us at dock, and showed us around, and the office promptly answered a few questions we had. They even left a wonderful basket of goodies for us to enjoy on our arrival. We will be back! Thank you Destination St John! |

My husband and I stayed at Blue Papaya for 2 perfect weeks. We couldn't have picked a more perfect place! First of all the location is outstanding, close enough to town but high up enough for beautiful views. We would hit the beaches during the day but made a point to be home in time for the magnificent sunsets every evening poolside! We loved hanging out either on the upstairs balcony, which was really nice for outdoor dining and relaxing, or around the pool. Every one had their own private room and bath, and all were equally impressive. The beds, linens, and bathrooms were well appointed. The pictures, while lovely, really don't do this home justice, as it is more lovely in person. We cooked Thanksgiving dinner and the kitchen has all the amenities necessary for a gourmet. Destination St. John set up our Jeep rentals, was always very friendly if we had any questions and check out was a breeze. I HIGHLY recommend Blue Papaya and Destination ST. John. |

We rented Blue Papaya from Dec. 28th to January 5th. Once again we had a wonderful stay at this terrific house and enjoyed this year's trip every bit as much as last year's. The house is lovely and large enough so that we were not on top of each other. The person in the bedroom next to the baby did not hear the baby at night--a testament to the construction of the house. We are already looking forward to our stay next year. |

The villa is equipped with modern appliances (including 2 set of washer/dryer) and everything was in great working order. It is located in a quiet neighborhood and has fantastic views. Some of the highlights for us included...Beach-entry style pool was perfect for our young children, the master on the pool deck’s sitting room was great to double as our children’s bedroom, the beds were very comfortable, the kitchen was very well-stocked and the stone showers, wood-work, brick floors and color scheme were simply beautiful. Perfect family vacation! And the management company, Destination St John's booking process, quick replies to all my questions and help with all our needs were excellent. We have stayed in this great home 2 times, and have booked it again for next year. The views are among the best I've ever seen from a villa. We stayed with another couple and four children. The pool is perfect with a beach entry and gets sun all afternoon. This house is very comfortable but very luxurious amenities. Really high quality linens and furnishings. Great kitchen very well equipped. The bedrooms are all really equal, with beautiful mahogany beds. and baths with stone showers! There is 5th bedroom space that is adjacent to a lower master bedroom, great spot for our kids. Beautiful landscaping, very well maintained. Greeter always helpful and Destination St. John staff is great to work with. Virgin Grand Estates has upscale villas and a gate, it is the nicest neighborhood by far. |

We return each year to this heaven on earth. Blue papaya offers every comfort of home with high-end appliances and luxury amenities. Whether the day is spent lounging by the pool with its breathtaking views, exploring nearby Cruz Bay shops and restaurants, or snorkeling, swimming or sunbathing at one of the many St John beaches, we are always happy with our island home away from home. My wife and I have made many trips to St John over the last 20 years. We have used several different agencies and also booked directly from villa owners. One thing we have come to expect is the island moves at a different pace than the mainland. However, the team at Destination St John turned that expectation upside down on our most recent visit. We decided to use our grill one night but discovered it was out of gas. They delivered a full tank the next morning! This is just one example. All interaction with them was prompt and courteous from initial booking to checkout. We will definitely be using them for future visits. |

They had the villa cleaned & ready the next day, with a staff member ready to meet us & show us to the villa...they even put a very nice welcome basket of food/snacks in the refrigerator. Another villa rental company sent me a rude email saying they were too busy to schedule a cleaning service...I'm so glad we stayed with DSJ...Great service!...I plan to use them exclusively in the future. |
